Saturday's Flashback
Okay, so I didn't have a flashback yesterday. Sorry. I just got too busy into other things and before I knew it bedtime had rolled around. As usual, I woke up way too early and had this song on my mind. Cyndi Lauper is one of my favorite singers. When she burst onto the international stage back in the 80's, I thought she was one of the most exciting performers I'd ever seen. Her quirkiness endeared her to the whole world and the title of her first LP, She's So Unusual, was just sensational! Cyndi became one of the biggest artists of her era and she remains a universal favorite with an appeal that never dims.
Her second album, released in 1986, was True Colors and while its title track became an anthem for an entire generation, this second single release went on to captivate the whole country, if not the entire world. Change of Heart is an exciting song filled with more hooks than a bait and tackle shop and this video, filmed in London, still makes me want to get up and dance. Thank goodness Cyndi Lauper is still doing her thing. Few others continue to inspire me as she does after all these years.
Pretty good, eh?
