Memories Of Bea

With Beatrice Arthur's passing a few days ago, I was once again reminded that time moves on and nothing can stay the same forever. Whenever someone I grew up admiring dies, it makes me very nostalgic and even a little sad. It's like a piece of me has passed away away with them because never again will I be able to look forward to something new from this person. As I previously wrote, Bea Arthur was one of the first actors who really made an impression on me when I was a child. It was her commanding presence that did it. That and her indomitable strength that she displayed on Maude. When I was older, and she was Dorothy on The Golden Girls, I was once again enjoying this wonderful actress and her gift had never seemed more alive than it did then.

Bea Arthur's death has made me sad indeed. I'll miss having her presence in the world. Thanks to the miracle of You Tube, I have been enjoying some of the best of her work all over again these past few days and I wanted to share some of them here. I hope you all enjoy(ed) them as much as I did.
