Sunday's Flashback

The Pointer Sisters were one of the most exciting groups of the 70's and 80's. I always thought they were just the bomb. I remember when all four of them were together and then when Bonnie went solo Ruth, Anita, and June regrouped as a trio and began turning out some of the biggest hits of the next decade.

In 1983 they released what would become the biggest hit LP of their entire career. Break Out was a masterpiece and it contained four top ten hits. Jump has got to be one of the most thrilling hits of all time. It rose to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained on the charts for months. Whenever I hear it I am reminded of the excitement of the summer of '83 when this song was on the radio almost continuously. The video was just as great and it was an MTV smash. This was when rock and pop were at their most sensational and The Pointer Sisters could rule with the best of them. Enjoy...
